So that's why I had asked both questions initially. One having to do with the initial install of Reaper and then, upon clicking "ignore/skip" just to get the program up and running, that maybe the install has to do with it.īut then, why does the install get to the point of "Can't install dll.s" when it's installing the program. If I can just past these 2 things, maybe I can be on my way. Wheww! I just got carpal tunnel after typing all this.Īlso. I just went back to check on the captured image that I have of the main error message. It is having to do with the ReaRoute dll. I think most of the suggestions don't apply anymore in 2020. Starting as admin: for me the installer always automatically requires admin privileges. If it doesn't, of course you must run it explicitly as admin because otherwise the installer can not copy/replace files to/in c:\Program Files (that is a feature not a bug!) But I think that has nothing to do with the original problem.Īlso I don't like the recommendation to not install under c:\Program Files. In 2020 every modern program that claims to be compatible to system x or y should be able to handle the basic rules. Microsoft has rather clear recommendations regarding which files should go where and you should follow these. If every software wants to be treated special the system becomes a vulnerable mess, at least when the system has access to the Internet.Īlso it's somehow frustrating that I should unselect a feature that I may find useful in the future, especially if I don't know at installation time what it is about. The cheapest solution for me is: at the moment the error appears during installation, rename or delete the original file in c:\Program Files\Reaper. and repeat the installation step with the "Repeat" button or whatever it is in your language. It's interesting that I am able to do that (with admin prompt) but the installer (also with admin prompt) is not. If the error continues to appear with the next update I will have a closer look at the cause. For now this solves it, at least for me.While it is said that the CCleaner may improve your computer performances, it is important to make sure CCleaner is set up correctly. What is CCleaner?ĬCleaner or “ Crap Cleaner“, just from the name itself we can learn, or at least guess, its function is to clean the crap files from Windows® in order to increase the computer performances. The Windows® Utility Tool’s size is quite small, only 5 MB. Despite its tiny size, the tool has plenty of use such as to clean the no-longer-needed file from windows like temporary files, broken shortcuts, browsing and internet history in your internet browser, unused registry and to disable unimportant startup programs which run from the start as Windows® running. To improve the computer performance by using CCleaner you need to make sure that you make the right setting. It is worth noting that you need to be real careful deleting files with CCleaner. Here are the sections of CCleaner explained in detail for you: Internet Explorer Files
